Daniel Pilaud
Daniel provides strategic guidance to Elaia's software and deep tech portfolio companies on technology development, intellectual property strategy, and commercialization pathways from academic research.
Daniel is an experienced entrepreneur and academic with deep expertise in software verification and deep tech commercialization. He was CEO of Polyspace Technologies from 1999 to 2007, successfully selling the company to Mathworks, a leading provider of mathematical computing software. From 2011 to 2019, he co-managed IT-Translation, focusing on supporting digital deep tech ventures from French research institutions.
Prior to entrepreneurship, Daniel was a professor assistant at Grenoble Institut National Polytechnique and co-managed Verimag lab for nine years during the 1990s, where he conducted research in software verification and formal methods.
Daniel holds a PhD in Computer Science from INPG and has authored numerous articles in programming and distributed systems.
