Laurent Kott

Laurent supports Elaia’s investment activities as Venture Partner, bringing decades of experience in digital deep tech, software, and technology transfer. He began his career as a research professor in computer science before becoming Professor at the Universities of Rennes and Versailles Saint-Quentin. Laurent later directed Inria’s Rennes centre and joined Inria’s general management, before leading Inria-Transfert, where he helped advance the organisation’s policy for creating technology companies. He also contributed to the design of I-Source, France’s first seed fund dedicated to digital technologies, and chaired the IT-Translation Management Board from 2011 to 2019, creating and managing France’s first ultra-seed fund for digital deep tech companies.

Laurent holds a doctorate and a state thesis in computer science, specialising in programming and software development, and has co-authored academic publications on programming and distributed systems.
